Fees + Financing

There is no difference in cost for in person or online/video counseling.

Payment for sessions are due at the time of service.

Relationship counseling

90 min session = $400

  • Couple’s sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes until otherwise specified.

Marathon counseling for Relationships

12 Hours (2 days) with resources and reports = $3,499

18 Hours (3 days) with resources and reports = $5,099

Late cancelation (within 48 hours) = Full fee of block(s) in the next 24 hours.

Relationship Assessment ONLY

Interviews, assessment, results and feedback = $1,000

Individual Counseling

45 min session = $200

90 min session = $400

Fee increase structure

Session fees increase by $10 every 45 minutes every year. Example: in 2023, my counseling fee was $180/45 min, in 2024 my counseling fee is $190/45 min.

Financing

I partner with Care Credit, which is a credit card with promotional financing for your healthcare related expenses. Depending on your credit and how many sessions you wish to pre-pay for, you can finance your sessions over the course of 12 months without interest during the promotional period. Financing for sessions is handled directly through Care Credit. Information about Care Credit can be found here.

 

  • Cancelations made within 48 hours of the session start time result in full session fee charged.

    If I cancel on you within 48 hours, your next session is reduced by $50 to compensate you for the inconvenience I may have caused.

  • Therapy is expensive, like all the other meaningful things in life.

    For reference the majority of us have $1,000 iPhones (me too) in our pockets. Taking care of our mind and relationships are equally important, and will make you feel better than your new phone ever could.

    I am here to help you in the shortest amount of time to help you meet your goals and resolve your problem(s) because I believe you don’t need to be in therapy longer than necessary.

  • I occasionally can accommodate sliding scale appointments based on my availability.

    As of September 1, 2024 I do not have any sliding scale slots available. I will update this section as slots become available.

  • The short answer is no. 

    If you do see me on your insurance website, it is because I am contracted with Rula Mental Health and hold a small number of insurance-based clients through Rula. If you need to use insurance, I recommend going to rula.com and filling out an intake form. As of September 1, 2024 my insurance Client list is full.

    The longer answer is that some Insurance companies consider me an Out of Network Provider (OPN) which has influence on how and if your insurance could pay for or reimburse for your counseling sessions with me.

    I cannot guarantee that your sessions will be covered by your insurance. I can provide Superbills for our sessions (you can generate them Monthly in your Secure Client Portal) and it will be up to you and your insurance to your discuss coverage.

    It would be helpful for you to contact your mental health insurance coverage (sometimes it is different than your medical insurance coverage) and ask them about my credentials (below) and service codes that I use for counseling sessions (also below).

    • For counseling sessions, Grayson uses the following codes:

      • Individual Counseling for 45 minutes: 90834

      • Couples/Relationship Counseling for 90 minutes: 90847 + 99355

    ATTENTION COUPLES: It’s important to consider that most health insurance companies do not reimburse for relationship problems or general self improvement and require a mental health diagnosis to justify the medical necessity and your treatment (thus reimbursement for your counseling). So if you hope to get your treatment paid for or reimbursed for, you will often need to be given a mental health diagnosis. I do not assign a diagnosis where there is not one so that you can get treatment paid for or reimbursed.

  • Great questions to ask your insurance provider if you are hoping to use your coverage for counseling costs:

    • Does my plan cover counseling services provided by an out-of-network mental health providers?

    • Who qualifies as an out-of-network mental health provider?

    • Grayson is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #12135. Can I use my insurance to reimburse for his session fees?

    • What is the deductible I have to meet before coverage to an out-of-network provider benefits start?

    • How much will my plan reimburse me after my deductible has been met?

    • How many counseling sessions does my plan cover in a year? How many sessions do I have left?

    • How do I submit the receipt (or Superbill) that I have for my sessions in order to receive reimbursement?

    • What is the timeline for my claim? How fast/soon after sessions do I need to submit to make sure I get reimbursed?
